Beyond Culture Shock: Breaking Down Barriers for Newcomer and Immigrant Success in the Creative Economy addresses equity gaps and diversity in the creative industries and arts. It is jointly hosted by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Sport, Ministry Citizenship and Immigration, and the Ismaili Council for Ontario as part of a broader joint initiative for Ontario examining diversity as a competitive advantage and economic driver.

Responsibilities included symposium design and delivery, event facilitation, client communications and stakeholder relations. Held on June 24, 2018, the day delved into questions about reducing barriers for immigrants in the creative economy and leveraging the arts and culture sectors to improve integration for newcomers. The insights will be used to help inform, align and support future policy decisions.
